TONIGHT, around 7 p.m., Congress will vote on the resolution to condemn “President Trump’s racist comments directed at Members of Congress.” On the next day, the president will fly to North Carolina for a political rally, where we’d be shocked if this didn’t come up.
-- THE PRESIDENT NOW HAS A FOIL, and it’s four young women of color who are from the energetic progressive wing of the Democratic Party. Some Republicans think the president is trying to highlight political views he believes are out of the mainstream -- albeit ham-handedly.
-- FOR DEMOCRATS, this development comes after years of complaints by some in the party that they were led by white septuagenarians. AOC, Pressley, Omar and Tlaib now rank among the most recognizable political figures in America. -- REPUBLICANS now have to vote on whether they approve of TRUMP’S comments. Most are likely to stick with Trump, even while they say privately he’s a boor for thinking and voicing these thoughts. It will be very instructive to see whether Republicans like Rep. Paul Mitchell (Mich.), a member of House GOP leadership who has criticized Trump over the tweets, end up voting with Democrats. Monday evening, senior Republicans told us they expected 10 or fewer Republicans would vote to condemn Trump.

Immigrant rights advocates across the United States say they've seen few signs of the ICE raids that Trump administration officials had warned would begin Sunday.

lmmigrant rights advocates across the United States say they've seen few signs of the ICE raids that Trump administration officials had warned would begin Sunday.
Does that mean officials changed their plans? Or is the operation still unfolding?
A senior immigration official who has seen the operation plans told CNN the list of target cities and individuals remains the same. The official had not received any details about total arrests so far. Officials previously have said ICE agents in 10 cities would be seeking 2,000 undocumented immigrants who'd been ordered removed from the United States.
A senior administration official told CNN that parts of the ICE deportation operation began on Saturday and would be expanded into other cities over the coming days.
"I wouldn't expect a big splash that matches the hysteria we've heard over the last several days," that official said.

There
also haven't been any confirmed reports of migrants being apprehended
in Baltimore, Chicago or New York, immigrant advocacy groups in those
cities told CNN.
"For
the most part, it's quiet," said Cara Yi, a spokeswoman for the
Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights. "We've been
dispatching rapid-response teams out to meet with people who have
reported ICE activity over our hotline. None have been confirmed as of
yet."
Such ICE operations are not
unprecedented. But it's uncommon for officials to talk about them so
extensively before they occur. Some advocates questioned whether the
President and his administration had released details about raids simply
as a scare tactic. Others cautioned that it's too soon to say.
"It's
very quiet. Let's hope it stays that way," said Jose Mario Cabrera of
the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles, speaking to
CNN Sunday afternoon.

One of President Donald Trump’s favorite Twitter trolls claimed Monday that a BuzzFeed reporter is threatening to reveal his identity.
“I have spoken with a reporter from Buzzfeed and they claim to have found my private Facebook profile, run a background check on me, and are prepared to release my name to the public, despite finding that I have no criminal background, nor is there any Newworthy reason to do so,” Carpe Donktum wrote in a tweet Monday.

Donktum, an account known for creating satirical memes and videos mocking CNN’s coverage of Trump, attended the president’s July 11 social media summit and visited the White House less than a week before the event. He has also posted a photo of himself that is displayed prominently on his Twitter profile.
Trump has retweeted Donktum’s tweets in the past, including one in April mocking former Vice President Joe Biden. Trump also retweeted a video from the account in February poking fun at Democratic lawmakers who attended the president’s 2019 State of the Union speech.
BuzzFeed has not responded to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request to confirm that the outlet is preparing to reveal Donktum’s identity.

WASHINGTON: Democratic presidential front-runner Joe Biden unveiled a US$750 billion healthcare plan on Monday that he said would strengthen the Affordable Care Act, drawing a contrast with rivals who back a more sweeping "Medicare for All" government-run system.
Biden portrayed White House rivals led by U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, who back a single-payer plan that eliminates private insurance, as a threat to former President Barack Obama's signature healthcare law known as Obamacare.

“I understand the appeal of Medicare for All. But folks supporting it should be clear that it means getting rid of Obamacare, and I’m not for that," Biden, who was Obama's vice president for eight years, said in a video.
Sanders is the lead Senate sponsor of a Medicare for All bill that would shift Americans into a Medicare-based, single-payer government-run system that eliminates private insurance. Medicare is the government insurance plan for the elderly.

"We have to protect and build on Obamacare," Biden said in the video.
Sanders responded that he had fought to improve and pass Obamacare and protect the law from Republican efforts to repeal it.
"But I will not be deterred from ending the corporate greed that creates dysfunction in our healthcare system. We must pass Medicare for All," Sanders said on Twitter.
U.S. Senator Michael Bennet, another Democratic presidential contender, called on Sanders, Warren, Harris and other Democratic contenders to reconsider their support for Medicare for All.
"We have to protect and build on Obamacare," Biden said in the video.
